The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu, has declared the Tamil Nadu Class 12 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Supplementary Result 2026. Along with the Class 12 results, the board has also announced the HSC First Year (Class 11) arrear results.

Students who appeared for the supplementary examinations can now check and download their provisional marksheets through the official websites, tnresults.nic.in and dge.tn.gov.in. Candidates will need their registration number and date of birth to access their results.

According to the official notification, students who appeared for the Higher Secondary First Year and Second Year Supplementary Examinations (June/July 2026), including private candidates and those with one arrear in Class 11, can download their Provisional Statement of Marks from July 31, 2026.

The Class 12 supplementary examinations were conducted from June 29 to July 7, 2026, for students who could not clear one or more subjects in the regular board examination held earlier this year. This was the second and final opportunity for students to clear the examination without losing an academic year.

Students can also access their results through SMS, DigiLocker and the UMANG application.

TN Class 12 Supplementary Result 2026: Steps to Check

Students can follow these steps to check their results:

  1. Visit tnresults.nic.in or dge.tn.gov.in.
  2. Click on the Tamil Nadu Class 12 Supplementary Result 2026 link.
  3. Enter the registration number and date of birth.
  4. Click on Submit or Get Marks.
  5. The result will appear on the screen.
  6. Download and save the provisional marksheet for future reference.

Students are advised to collect their original marksheets from their respective schools.

For subjects that include practical examinations, students must secure at least 15 marks in theory and a combined total of 35 marks to pass. Attendance in the practical examination is compulsory, although there is no separate minimum passing mark for the practical component.

For theory-only subjects, students must obtain a minimum of 35 marks to qualify.

The board has also made available category-wise pass percentage data, district-wise performance statistics, school-wise results and institutional mark statements.

Students who have cleared the Class 12 supplementary examination can now proceed with undergraduate admission applications. Those who fail to clear the examination will have to repeat the academic year, as this was the final supplementary opportunity for Class 12.

Students who are dissatisfied with their supplementary results can apply for revaluation or retotalling from August 4 to August 5, 2026, between 11 am and 5 pm.

Applications must be submitted at the offices of the District Assistant Director of Government Examinations. The retotalling fee is Rs 275 per subject. Candidates can apply for either revaluation or retotalling, but not both.

Students from Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, Ranipet, Mayiladuthurai, Chengalpattu and Cuddalore districts should submit their applications at their respective District Assistant Director offices, as specified in the official notification.
