With the release of the NEET UG 2026 provisional answer key, students have started calculating their probable scores to assess their chances of securing admission in MBBS programmes.
As per current expectations, candidates scoring above 700 may have a strong possibility of getting into AIIMS and other premier central institutions, while those with 650 or more are likely to remain in contention for government medical colleges. Scores around 600 could offer decent opportunities under the state quota system, whereas candidates in the 500–600 range may explore semi-government and private medical colleges.
Aspirants scoring below 500 are expected to consider options such as BDS, AYUSH courses, and private institutions. Education experts believe the cutoff levels could stay high this year because of intense competition and the limited number of government MBBS seats available.
